Congratulations to Warren Reinig H.O.P.E. Chaplains Corps of Las Vegas, Nevada has presented a certificate to Warren for serving with distinction as Chaplain and Sunday Devotion Leader at the U.M.C. Interfaith Chapel Since September 2003. Our members serve the community in so many ways.—Thank you Warren! MARY MARTHA CIRCLE by Dorothy Smith, “Acting Secretary” Ange Stange and Jean Gable were the hostesses for the February 13, 2008 meeting. There were seven members present and Pastor Loren joined us for a delicious lunch. Mary Kimmel was our guest and we hope she will become a regular member. The tables were decorated with a Valentine décor and the center-pieces were a beautiful assortment of artificial roses in a red vase. A drawing was held for the centerpieces and Marie Borror, Jean Johnson and Dorothy Smith were the winners. The meeting was called to order by Co-leader Dorothy Smith and opened with prayer. She also asked for God’s healing health for our sick members. We sang Happy Birthday to Dorothy. Dorothy stated we were all saddened by the death of members Jimi Craft on December 23, 2007, and LaDell Miller on February 3, 2008. She read a poem she said Jimi and LaDell might communicate to us if they were able. Our Card Lady, Jean Johnson, had sent each member a letter asking that at this meeting we remember our departed sisters by telling what they meant to us and we did this. Lee Williams, our Treasurer, read her report Dorothy said at our last meeting we decided to order more of the coloring books ad crayons we give as a gift to our children visitors on Sunday. She showed the books and crayons as well as the Sesame Street packets she found more of at the 99 cent store. She said she was donating the packets and Ilean Shelton had donated a toy for each packet. The cost of the books and crayons was paid by the Circle. They are stored in Jean Gable’s supply room. At our January meeting we agreed to purchase two new Church Hymnals as a memorial for Jimi Craft. We decided to do the same as a memorial for LaDell Miller. Pastor Loren has asked if our Circle would host another Health Fair on March 17th and we agreed to do so. Pastor suggested the menu be similar to that we furnished for the Health Fair on October 25, 2007. More information on this will be forthcoming. The program was presented by Jean Gable and she read some appropriate stories for Valentine’s Day. The hostesses for our March 12th meeting will be Marie Borror and Jean Johnson. The meeting closed with the Lord’s Prayer. Ladies, please join us at our next meeting on March 12th at 10:00 a.m.
